In this short video interview— just under seven minutes long— United Methodist Pastor David Felten interviews Amy-Jill Levine, an orthodox Jew who is Professor of New Testament at Vanderbilt University. Dr. Levine grew up in a Portuguese Catholic community in southeastern Massachusetts. It was there that she grew to appreciate many aspects of Christian tradition but also she experienced prejudice that led her to her career in studying and then teaching the New Testament and putting it into its Jewish context. Dr. Levine is the general editor of The Jewish Annotated New Testament.
